we have 9 guns for every 10 people in this country.
since more guns = better protection, i keep asking myself why there is so much gun violence here ???.
i don't see such violence in canada, australia, europe, japan and other so-called "advanced" countries.. what is wrong with us here.
It's the mind of those that have the guns that is the problem. Gun control is important. But making guns illegal will not change anything. Crack is illegal and I could go get some crack 10 mins away if I wanted to.
That's why the answer is not to adopt Canada's gun laws. Or illegalize guns. The answer is to get to the root of why people are doing it. What is different in America than the countries where gun violence is less? That may be the answer.

I'm saying that when God does not get involved, people want to blame Him.
It goes both ways. God is given credit for everything. And He is blamed for everything. I don't think God does much either way outside a spiritual sense anyway. He doesn't cause all the great things that happen. And He doesn't cause all the bad things.
I'm just saying that it is ironic that everyone wants to take all reference to God out of our lives, and then blame Him when things go bad. And I'm talking in a general way. These kids did nothing wrong. And the adults haven't either. But they are more than happy to blame God when a nut case gets angry at his mom and kills her and her entire class of kids.

Everyone wants to get rid of God in every part of their lives, yet when He lets them have what they want, they blame Him for it! Makes me sick, honestly.
These kids are now with their loving God, and are not sad at all. They are in a wonderful place right now, seeing more amazing things and meeting more amazing people than any of us ever have.
That's all I have to say about this. I'm done on this thread that tries to shove all the blame on God after trying to get rid of him. Shameful.

True, but I think he was looking for articles that show both sides of the issue and attempt to remain objective. Of course nothing can be purely objective. It is impossible to separate observation from interpretation. A distinction can be made between the two, but not a separation. Therefore as one observes he also interprets, and this always involves subjectivity. However, an attempt can be made to equally demonstrate multiple positions and views of every story and allow the reader to reach his or her own conclusions.

That's technically supposed to be the rule, but I'd heard stories of housekeepers finding things in the closet. It never happened to me, but I've heard a few stories.

Yes, no, sort of. Supposedly your closet is supposed to be off limits to housekeepers. So if you want to hide something, your closet is the best bet. However, I did hear of some that were busted for something found in their closet. Maybe a heavy metal or rap album, or an R rated movie. SHOCKING!!!
There is very little privacy at bethel. When someone gets married at bethel, they sit down with an overseer to go over some special rules for them. They are not to be affectionate in public, so as to not stir up the horny boys. Bethel is a pressure cooker for horny bethelites. I'm not sure if it was just a rumor or not, but supposedly the overseer was supposed to tell them about not making any noise during sex so as to not disturb others. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the next room.
When my roomates and I got too busy in the morning sometimes we'd stash our dirty dishes under the sink. That also was supposed to be off limits for housekeepers. I would only do the dirty dishes trick once in a while, but I had a filthy roomate that did it ALL the time. When I first got to bethel my other roomates (I had 3 of em) said that he'd been doing it for a while and the dishes under the sink had been there for months.
